Known as the most oil bearing rose of its kind, the Damask Rose miracle blossom thrives in the Valley of Roses in Bulgaria. The land’s rolling hills, fertile soil and pristine weather yield high quality rose petals. Seizing on the opportunity, savvy farmers began seeding their fields with roses. An intimate relationship bloomed and the rose quickly became a homegrown cultural icon.

Gently picked by happy workers, our flowers are sustainably harvested. Picking begins at 4 o’clock in the morning and usually ends at 10 am because petals picked in the afternoon have 50% less rose oil in them. Special willow branch baskets are used to catch and carry the petals as the willow does not soak the dew of the rose petals. This is important to us because almost 50,000 individual rose petals are needed to make 1 milligram of pure rose oil, or as the locals fondly say, “liquid gold.”.
Great care is taken to extract beneficial vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. For this task we’ve hired local experts located as close as possible to the flower fields. By distilling near to the source, we can ensure the highest of quality.
